About Us

Unification Nepal (UN-Nepal) Gorkha is an autonomous, non-profit, non-governmental, non-party secular youth led organization. It is registered in the District Administration Office Gorkha (2009) and affiliated to Social Welfare Council. UN-Nepal was formed by a group of youths professionals hailing from various disciplines who wanted integrate research with social action for sustainable development towards sustainable peace and prosperity. Its constant endeavor has been to conduct action oriented, participatory condition of poor, the disadvantage and the oppressed. It emphasized participatory community development through various cross-cutting issues and empowerment of women in a more and just equitable world where these disadvantaged people, particularly, women and oppressed have a chance to mould their destinies. The organization is governed by its constitution, financial and administrative policy, code of conduct and other various policy instruments.Major areas of intervention include Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), as well as Education, Health, Income generation and peace promotion.

After its establishment, UN-Nepal has been partnering with Ministry of Youths and Sport (MoYS) Association of Youth Organization Nepal (AYON), TEWA, District Development Committee (DDC) Gorkha, Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI), District Education Office Gorkha, Ministry of Education and District Sports and Development Committee.On the other hand, UN Nepal has been partnering with Jagrati Child and Youths Concern Nepal (JCYCN) Nawalparasi, Concern Universal Bangladesh, National Forum for Advocacy Nepal (NAFAN), WWF Nepal for climate change adaptation/mitigation training, REDD+ capacity building, and climate smart agriculture practices in Gorkha.
After earthquake, UN Nepal also collaborated with Caritas Nepal (CN), Catholic Relief Service (CRS, India, Germany and Japan) for the relief distribution which has covered 7 VDCs of Gorkha. Moreover, UN Nepal Gorkha also partnering with Aid and Development Organization Bostwana for food security, World Vision International for WASH, TLC construction, Nagarik Aawaz, Lalitpur, Tewa, Namuna Integrated Development Centre, and other various self-help organizations for relief distribution.

Currently, UN Nepal Gorkhais partnering with DDC, PAF, WWF, CECI/World Bank, World Vision International, Concern Worldwide, International Medial Corp (IMC) in different reconstruction and recovery activities in Gorkha.

UN Nepal Gorkha has expertise on WASH since we are implementing huge project for WASH funded by WVIN. We are well equipped by the human and physical resources including technical manpower. Besides, we UN Nepal Gorkha has competed more than half dozen of project related with good governance, transparency, human rights and social accountability.

Besides, UN Nepal Gorkha has expertise on ERR and DRR theme as well. The organization has been implementing many projects with core cross-cutting issues of BBB and DRR. After earthquake, the organization has completed about 7KM foot trail construction project funded by WWF Nepal under Hariyo Ban/WOO. Similarly, the organization has completed 1192 individual latrine, 20 drinking water scheme and 5 Temporary learning center in many VDCs of Gorkha. Further, the organization currently implementing DRR related projects with many international partners. The organization has well experienced Engineer, Junior Engineer and other technical human resources who are capable to handle DRR related projects. UN Nepal Gorkha is also working on shelter theme in collaboration with Concern Worldwide where UN Nepal Gorkha is facilitating to provide CGI sheet, mason training and other information dissemination related activities on shelter in the respective working VDCs.
